Arsenic in Food Regulation
The FDA is not currently regulating the limit of arsenic allowed in our foods. However, they DID put a limit on the amount (5 ppb[parts per billion]) that is allowed in our water. This is a huge issue, considering the high levels in our fruits, which are made into fruit juices. Companies such as Welch's and Mott's were accused of exceeding the limit for water, but when questioned, denied it. Keep in mind, this is an international problem that was featured on the Doctor Oz show, as well as in articles for Consumer Reports. Our kids who drink these products, such as grape juice or apple cider, have a much higher risk to develop sicknesses. Together we can make a change for a healthier country for our kids!
