We are becoming way too much like America and their police over there seem to be trigger happy, not a good idea at all, we have a firearms division already..

i do not wish my children brought up in country were police walk about armed with guns....there is no need for it and it will be stopped...

why on earth do we need armed police .. we will end up with the army/police combined ridiculous

I do not agree with armed police in general on the streets of Scotland. I do not agree with Scotland having a single police force. Not many countries have this set up, except others with a "police state" regime. I am all for Scottish independence, but not for a police state. I think the Scottish government has acted ultra vires (beyond its powers) in both changing the structure of policing in Scotland to a single force without proper public debate; and secondly, to arming officers on the street. Someone should take these matters up in court using the process of Judicial Review. No more police state!!!
