My son is #2023 on the waiting list for Medicaid waiver services. I am 67 years old and have saved the government a conservatively estimated $3 million over his lifetime to date. Save yourselves the costs of his future institutionalization upon my death by supporting him in the community now!

I've been fighting to get on the AAPD waiver for uite some time and just basically going round and round with dhs. I finally was able to get much needed help from my state represetative and will have in home services starting in March. I feel very fortunate to finally get the help I've needed, but it saddens me that I had to get my state representative involved to accomplish this.

Please Arkansas be a progressive state and join with other states in increasing funding for community placement for people with disabilities. I have a son with a disability. He lives at home with his family and always has. I would never place any of my other children in an institution and would not consider it for him either. It is time to fund the right options Arkansas.
