Arjuna Awards to Chess Players - Drought of 7 years

they worked and are still working very hard to make india proud. Awarding them can be the least thing we can do for them if Indian government cant provide them financial aid. Shame on you Indian government.

Chess "in a way" can be considered as the medium of showcasing the brain power of a country and can be seen as the sport/art that demonstrates the intellectual potency of the country. And the fact that the Indian players are right up there competing with the best brings great pride and joy to us citizens. Arjuna Award to some of these players would just bring the spotlight on chess which it more than deserves.

Please treat equally players from all sports.

Chess is as difficult as any other sport if not more..... chess players commit their whole lives for this game and bringing laurels to the country..... we're not asking for high ranking govt. jobs for chess players like cricketers or footballers but just one award for them is not too much to ask is it?

Chess players need the respect and position they deserve. Its high time things are falling in favour of them.

I also agree, chess should be recognised.

Nobody can keep ignoring the game that is chess, for it to revel in our country, we need to appreciate our superstars and what better way to do it than honouring them with the Arjuna and the Dronacharya awards!

All players are doing a great job and they deserve to win a medal for it.

Every sport should get support by our government. This would be first step towards chess getting all attention .

These people work so hard . They fight for our country. Moreover in issues like internet vidit bhaiya lost and became india no. 3 Still he had such sportsmanship that he was happy for his teammates. And people like vidit ,harikrishna , humpy ,etc. deserve not only arjuna award but even bharat ratna award They are real gems for our country If we can respect sachin , dhoni,virat, Mary Kom , vijendra Kumar, yuvraj,babita phogat,Geeta phogat ,etc. We have to respect these players They are brilliant and there brilliance need recognition and awards Moreover please give dronacharya award to coaches. They have done so much in shaping these gems and they don't get anything. I would request please please please make arjuna for chess and dronacharya for chess too It is a humble request by a fellow Indian who wants chess to be a sport where everyone tries and thinks that they can think of a future in this beautiful game .
