The level at which Indian players are in chess is just outside the sky. They play extreme well and is extremely hard to beat. They definitely deserve the arjuna awards.

Chess, due to lack of media coverage, hasn't been given it's due respect. I myself only got to know a lot more about chess only during this lockdown period. The achievements of Vidit Gujrathi, Adhiban, Sethuraman, Padmini Rout, Praggnanandha, Vaishali, Divya Deshmukh and many more are more or less similar to the previous Arjuna awardees like Surya Shekar Ganguly, Pentala Harikrishna, Tania Sachdev. They deserve an Arjuna Award. R. B Ramesh has been one of the Eminent coaches in chess for more than two decades. The Awarding Tribunal can consult the players themselves if he deserves an award or not, in improving the players game (as Chess being an Individual sport, many players do have multiple coaches) . But R. B. Ramesh role should never be discounted.

India is the country which invented chess and indian players not getting awards for it is sad , they deserve a lot more attention please guys make it happen
