The chess fraternity in India is lush with talent, but are not supported with enough resources and opportunities.

Amount of mental strength it needs to play this game is enormous. And so many talented players have made our country proud on International platforms. They deserve the proper recognition and should be awarded with this award.

Please do consider Chess players for the honour as the game is a wonderful game and achieving a notable feat in such a game is not easy. Such achievement has to be awarded with the respect it deserves. When Vishy so held the crown for INDIA for 5 years we all cherished it, so when it comes to recognising the game it is our responsibility to make sure that the game and it's players deserve the respect it has earned over the years.

Its really sad that the game which was invented in India doesn't have the recognition as the other games... Its a game of strategy its a game of patience, concentration... It requires skill which everyone doesn't possess...
