Chess should get the recognition it deserves. And the players should be honored for what they do for the country.

This completely makes sense, they work so hard and all by themselves. Also it needs so much of courage to be persistent at preparing even when you aren't having any recognition

Like cricket we give arjuna on basis of runs and wickets or performances inspite of not being in olympics or commonwealth games so chess players should also get award on basis of ratings and their performances in international tournaments

We all know that without much financial support from the government the Indian team is working hard and paying for their training themselves and not just that but bringing laurels for the country should not go unnoticed and we all know that India is one of the worst contenders in olympics and if we are doing good in chess than we should give them national awards like Arjuna award and many more and they really deserve it

It's our game and we have to give not only our attention but efforts to popularise this beautiful game. We have to recognise our heroes.
