As a chess enthusiast and as a player who represented my school at Chess tournaments, I feel this is very outrageous. We need more support for Indian Chess players. There has been no Arjuna Awards since 2013 for any chess player which shows the neglect towards the Game.

Our chess players are playing incredibly good in recent tournaments specially the youngsters, so I wish rewarding them will boost the confidence and in future there will be a Bobby Fischer from India also

Chess is a mind game. Along with other physical or contact sports it deserves to be treated as a vital sports for the holistic development of the previous and current generation. It's players equally deserve arjuna award as they have brought many laurels and made India proud.
