With due respect to all players in India who are playing various sports representing India across the world which includes cricket, football, basketball, table tennis, boxing etc where these sports have their own championships, and renoun tournaments like Commonwealth games, Asian games etc...i think it's high time that chess to be included in various national prestigious awards ceremonies as it has its own championships and very renouned world tournaments where more than 150 countries participate like the olympiads, so that every Indian chess player can be benefitted from this also the confidence levels in our Indian chess players can build also this can inspire many other chess players who are beginners or who are in a path of becoming a Grand Master in chess. I also request the Indian government to recognize India's first ever GM and 5 time world champion and 3 division champion Mr. Vishwanathan Anand to be awarded with Bharat ratna. Thanks a lot

Chess is long overdue for recognition and awards like arjuna award by the GOI goes a long way in doing so.It not only gives the players what they truly deserve but i strongly believe it popularises the game itself more and it motivates the younger generation to take up chess and fulfill their ultimate dream of representing INDIA.I humbly request the govt to look into this and thereby i sign this petition.
