We believe that our country and our State have the means to welcome refugees, including those from Syria and other Middle Eastern nations.
We believe in helping those in need.
We believe in opening our doors to those who face the difficult choice to stay in their homes and die or flee with the chance of survival.
Moreover, the Governor's decision is not supported by law, and we do not support his empty rhetoric that politicizes tragedy.

I have been spending my time researching the legal arguments behind the Governor's directive because the rhetoric simply does not hold up under scrutiny. Every conversation I have with my fellow students reinforces why we started this fight for those who have no other choice but to seek safety here.

Seeing this grow so quickly reminds me that my classmates and colleagues value human lives over political games. This momentum proves that our legal community refuses to stay silent while people in desperate need are turned away.

Refugees from all nations make our community stronger, more interesting, and more tolerant. Be a leader and educate folks on the value of these people, not the perceived dangers.
I support Syrian and all types of refugees finding safety and security in Arizona! Refugees are subject to a strict vetting process in order to enter the US and are most vulnerable to violence inflicted by extremist groups. I support refugees and I support the core humanitarian values that lay foundation to our nation. We cannot turn our back on our values based on brash misunderstandings of the refugee process and crisis. #IStandWithSyria

Taking a "stand" against a group of people fleeing violence and persecution is an ignorant message to send to the rest of the world. The attacks in Paris were tragic but they do not provide a justification for closing our borders to refugees.
