Ariana Jacob for President

I want to serve as the president of AFT-Oregon for a second term to be able to follow through on the work we have begun that I believe is making our federation stronger.
That work includes:
- Cultivating an inclusive culture of member leadership and democratic decision making to guide our organization.
- Working with our local leaders to create a collaborative vision for the future our federation with practical, shared organizing plans for how we will get there.
- Convening the coalition that it will take to tax the rich and corporations to fund education.
- Building cross-union power that we can wield to pull off coordinated labor actions that improve our living conditions.
Everything on that list depends on bringing together many people's voices, experience, and skill-sets so that we create a union community and movement that are actually more than the sum of their parts. What it takes to accomplish that is facilitative leadership, which I am deeply committed to practicing. My goal as a leader of our union federation is to listen for the wisdom and smarts of our many different people and help weave those varied voices into shared vision and functional plans.
I am deeply grateful to be a part of our union movement at this moment in history.
I ask that you vote for me to continue doing my best to serve you, and all of us.
