Many health professionals, who know how much the North East needs this centre, have made impassioned arguments supporting this petition. It is my privilege to join them

It will be a travesty of responsibility if the SNP back out of providing a trauma centre at ARI

Aberdeen is ideally placed and has the facilities and expertise for a major trauma centre. It would be a travisty to ignore this.

It is ridiculous that Aberdeen and the North of Scotland will not have a trauma centre when there will be two trauma centres in the Central belt. Yet again Aberdeen and the North of Scotland miss out.

Aberdeen covers a large geographical area, and a major trauma centre is essential

It is essential that ARI has a major trauma centre to serve the region. Senior medical staff have confirmed that lives would be put at risk if patients have to go to Edinburgh or Glasgow for emergency treatment. It makes no sense to have only two trauma centres in the central belt in cities that are only 47 miles apart when the rest of Sotland has no provision.

Trauma patients can't travel for hours. The Central belt already has state of the art hospital. Aberdeen needs one which will serve a large area

This would leave the northern half of Scotland without adequate trauma cover. Only those resident in the central belt could consider this as satisfactory!

Scotland does not mean only the Central Belt. It stretches from Shetland to the Borders. We need trauma centres strategically placed throughout the country especially in the north east to cover any emergencies on oil rigs based in the North Sea.

What a ridiculous proposal. Stick to your Promise SNP. I work in Edinburgh RIE we are full to bursting as it is. Aberdeen needs this facility, transferring seriously ill trauma patients down to Edinburgh and Glasgow will seriously impact survival rates. Major cities need trauma centres. Simple.
