Final supporters
Following a Vote of No Confidence in the Government led by Prime Minister Bethuel Pakalitha Mosisili on the 1 March 2017 by the Opposition block of 74 MP's versus 34 MP of Government. would elections be in the Interests of Lesotho considering the following:
1. The SADC recommendations of the Phumaphi Commission which remain outstanding,
2. The institutional reforms that remain outstanding ( Public service Reforms, Constitutional Reforms, Security Sector Reforms)
3. There is literally no budget allocated for the financial year 2017-2018,
4. The west Minister model of Lesotho's Constitution gives the Monarch reserve powers not to agree with any Prime Minister for early elections where His Majesty is of the View that Government can continue without the need for elections or alternatively where the contemplated elections are not in the best interests of the Nation.
DOES LESOTHO NEED EARLY SNAP ELECTIONS FOR 2017 BEARING IN MIND THAT THERE WERE ELECTIONS HELD TWO YEARS AGO IN 2015?

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have stopped to consider the future of our nation alongside me. This momentum was never something I predicted and it belongs entirely to the people who care deeply about the stability of Lesotho.

The elections are not in the best interests of Basotho. There is high rate of unemployment, poor infrastructure and most importantly no rule of law in the country. How can the country hold elections in 2 years time under such cruesome circumstances. It is high time that our leaders stop thinking for themselves but the nation at large!
We need to reform the national constitution before general elections, we need the new government to save AGOA and MCC and also to implement the SADC/Phumaphi report
It would be so sad for a parliamentary democracy to allow for elections everytime there is a vote of no confidence assuming three months after the elections members of the parliament exercise their right and pass a vote of no confindence should we go for a no confidence vote again i dont think so
Elections are NOT in the interests of Lesotho. We need review of our laws governing elections and this otherwise foreign animal of coalitions, and not go to elections like a drunk man going to the loo. There was, in the previous coalition, a trio to New Zealand, the fruits of which remain to be tasted....
We cannot go for elections three times in a single term. Current PM and his PM don't command majority in parly and they were toppled by motion of no confidence. There is a Government in waiting with majority seats in parly! Why should we waste so much money for elections? The elections will not be beneficial for this country

The climate is not conducive for free and fair elections.

I personally do not believe that early polls will answer Lesotho's problems other than going deep into the nation's funds that could be utilised for economic and social development purposes. The PM should just relinquish power and make way for the new and fresh regime.
