We, the Archbishop Williams High School Class of 2012, would like our commencement ceremony, held on the date of May 24, 2012, to be held at the Archbishop Williams multi-use athletic facility instead of the typical auditorium. We request this for the following reason: The auditorium provides limited seating for our families. If held outside, more family members would be able to attend, making the day even more special than it already is. The auditorium also gets extremely hot and stuffy when it is filled. While it will still be warm, people will be much more spaced out and there is a chance of a breeze and shade. Being outside would increase the comfort of everyone, making the day even more enjoyable. Holding the graduation at the sports field also gives us a chance to put it to further use. The multi-million dollar facility will now not only be advertised as being used for our athletics but as being used for the commencement ceremony of our senior classes. By signing this petition, we do not mean to offend any of part of the Archbishop Williams family. This is just a formal way to express what we would like to change about our commencement ceremony.
