Arcade Fire, you've just been confirmed to play the NZ Big Day Out gig on January 18, 2008. While we are ecstatic to hear that you are coming to NZ, we have to warn you of this: The Big Day Out is a huge, sprawling messy pulp fest which markets itself to the younger music fans or bogans who want to rock year in and out to Rage Against the Machine. Arcade Fire deserve their own show and you can have the best of both worlds. Play the Big Day out for the industry kudos, money and exposure but please, also consider a solo gig for your fans.
