As a current Futura owner, I would look forward to adding to the collections with modern, higher-tech v4 version. Count me in-build it!

Yes, something new needed. Parts to Futura (rear wheel bearing, argghh) are hard to get

It is time for a successor for the rst1000,
And it would be nice if Aprilia start to make spareparts for the old RST1000

I own an rst1000 Futura, and it truly is a wonderful allround bike. A real successor could only do well as a genuine alternative to the adventure touring scene, in the form of a bike which is actually capable of some serious sport riding when required.

02 Aprilia RST1000 my dashboard has been flickering on and off since I purchased this motorcycle it only works when it's hot outside and some days when it's cold

I own a 2002 and cannot find a modern equivalent worth my money. An updated Futura is the only new bike I would consider buying at this point. Until there is a new generation with the V4, I'll keep the 2002 on the road.

The original RST 1000 Futura was one of the best motorcycles Aprilia ever made. All of us who have had them, or still have them, fell in love with the design and functionality. It deserved ongoing development to iron out the initial minor snags but never received it. That was a major mistake by Aprilia and led to poor sales and the end of production after only three or four years of a brilliant bike by anyone's standard. A great opportunity missed. The time is surely now upon us where a properly upgraded successor to the much missed original Futura can be produced. Get it right and it will sell by the boatload. Here's hoping!
