We are writing to express our sincere concern regarding the recent resignation of Traci Marin, who has served as the Director of the Respiratory Therapy Program at Victor Valley College for the past 23 years. Her decision to resign appears to stem from recent administrative changes. Many of us have reached where we are today thanks to her guidance and dedication. As an alumnus of her program, I can't emphasize enough the positive impact she has on every student she teaches.

Traci has been a dedicated and highly effective leader whose contributions have been instrumental to the success and reputation of the program. Over the course of her tenure, she has established and maintained critical partnerships with hospitals for clinical placements, upheld rigorous academic standards, and created meaningful opportunities for current students, alumni, and future cohorts alike.

The foundation that Traci has built at VVC has enabled our students to consistently distinguish themselves among their peers from other institutions. Her leadership has shaped a program that not only prepares students to successfully pass their board examinations, but also inspires them to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the respiratory therapy profession.

The Victor Valley College (VVC) Respiratory Therapy Program is at a crossroads, and there is a pressing need for leadership that is not only experienced but profoundly connected with both students and faculty. Traci Marin exemplifies these qualities. Her student-centric approach not only attracts motivated learners but also fosters an environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their potential.

Her resignation raises significant concerns regarding the future stability, quality, and reputation of the program, as well as the professional readiness of future respiratory therapists trained in her absence. Traci’s leadership, mentorship, and vision have directly impacted the growth and success of students, faculty, and practicing respiratory therapists connected to this program.

It is imperative that we advocate for dedicated leadership that understands the unique needs of our community and can propel our program to new heights. Enabling Traci Marin to guide the respiratory therapy program would be a step toward ensuring continued success and growth.

We respectfully submit this petition urging the administration to re-evaluate the decisions that led to her resignation and to take appropriate action to reinstate Traci as Director of the Respiratory Therapy Program. Sign this petition to show your support and make a lasting impact on the future of education at VVC.

No one else cares more about the community and patient advocacy then Dr. Marin. She made us who we are today. To care for the community and the people who live here.

I'm in full support of Traci as a I am a current instructor for the respiratory therapy program. She has brought to light the problems that are occurring and must be addressed by the dean and executive leadership in order for the program to function.

My daughter, Stephanie, graduated from VVCC as a respiratory therapist. She had Tracy as her teacher. Under Tracy's leadership and teachings, she received a seller education and excellent training in her medical profession as a respiratory therapist. Bring this lady back, the program and students need her expertise.

I can attest to Dr. Marin's passion to her job and her love to teach. Dr. Marin has supported and encouraged me through my own educational goals. She is an asset to any program and more importantly an asset to any student.

Traci really made a difference to the VVC respiratory care program. I work at Redlands community hospital for many years and we have so many respiratory students from many schools but VVC students are the best compare to other schools.

As a current clinical instructor and a former VVC grad I can attest that Traci is very valuable to the respiratory program at VVC. She has shaped many clinicians that take care of our community, our family and teach the future of healthcare. Please take her concerns with deep thought and let’s get this resolved so we can start these students in fall!
