Recently the faculty made a decision to implement a new policy for
course requirements for incoming students. Several details of the policy
were left to the CSD Doctoral Review Committee to decide on -- in
particular, whether the new policy should apply to current students as
well.

Since the policy has been voted on as an improvement to the current PhD
program,we believe it should apply to all students that it can benefit, including all current PhD students.
