Apple is one of the wealthiest corporations in the world and it is also one of the few large global corporations that is currently operating relatively debt-free.
The recent news from various news sources, including the NY times and the internet, regarding the inhumane and unsafe working conditions at its factories in china that produce the iphone and ipad, Apple has shown that Apple is no different in its operating ethics than any other large greedy corporation. 
Apple executives responded saying that what was reported does not go on and that all of their suppliers and manufacturing facilities are tightly monitored and are expected to operate ethically.   Apple, as with other corporations, has moved all of their manufacturing to china to obviously increase profit by taking advantage of the non-existent environmental, child labor and other workplace laws.  
With the millions upon millions of individuals out of work in the United States, Apple should ethically filter some of that revenue back into the U.S. economy by bringing its manufacturing jobs back here.  
Hopefully this petition will send a clear and strong message and cause Apple execs to rethink their profit strategy.
