We are not opposing our commute to class, we are opposing the disregard for our safety and the inconvenience to our daily living. I fully support improving parking for commuters, I absolutely understand what you all have been through however I think that there should be more of a compromise.

But, should commuters have to spend half a hour to try and find a parking space? While residents have a 2-minute walk? Should commuters be given the risk of receiving a parking ticket to try and be on time for class? Ya'll need a wambulance;(

Also this decission was mad based on the serveys and the majority of the respondents were commuters there were only about 200 responces they can't ignore 500 to take the oppinion of 200

In case this petition does not work I think that we should still petition for a 24-hour shuttle to the parking lot. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/24-hour-shuttle-for-resident-students-to-their I hate to say this but petitions to get residents back on campus might not change the parking plan. It took months to make and was reviewed by faculty and student leaders. I totally understand the frustration of the student body. A bright side is more resident spots were added with this plan. The fact of the matter is that commuters use their car more often than residents and there are more commuters than residents; majority wins in this case. We should petition for a 24-hour shuttle to the lot.

Almost 400 in eight hours?! You guys are AWESOME!! Keep sharing, there's strength in numbers!! Encourage your parents, family members, alumni, even some kindhearted commuters! :) Great job!

I respect your opinion however I politely disagree with your rationale. Thinking logistically, a main concern for residents is safety. Even with a 24 hour shuttle, many people will not feel comfortable waiting for a shuttle or boarding one in the late evening hours. In a situation as tough as this one, it will be nearly impossible to satisfy everyone but I do believe that a compromise should attempt to be met.

The deal with 24 hour shuttle is that we are not going to have the money to have it rub that late. First off they can't afford to give the residents toilet paper or necessities. Second we pay for on-campus living which is much more than commuters pay and we pay more for our parking pass. The parking lot off campus should be for commuters that's actually why they made it.
