Appeal to Eircom to improve broadband services in the Gaeltacht area of West Muskerry, Co.Cork

Poor to non-existent broadband speeds makes it absolutely impossible to engage in any meaningful or effective way online. This is having an extremely negative impact on all Eircom customers in the community as well as on local trade and business. Despite many attempts by members of the community to flag this with Eircom, the responses have been unhelpful, for example requesting that individuals pay more money for a better service or blaming faults in the dwellings themselves. We, as a community, believe that Eircom are in a position to replace the faulty lines and address the defective broadband service in the area of West Muskerry. Irrespective of what provider community members are using, it is the Eircom line which is supplying the broadband. Our aim is to get 1000 signatures in order to correspond in a united and a democratic way with Eircom on behalf of our local community.
This is our final attempt to engage with Eircom to resolve this long term problem by upgrading the exchange and if it is not addressed, having explored this avenue, we see that we have no choice but to withdraw completely from the Eircom service.

This momentum demonstrates that our community is finished with settling for inadequate infrastructure and is ready to pursue a real solution. Next to impossible to run a business with very poor and sometimes non existent broadband. Have contacted Eircom on numerous occasions but didn't get any satisfaction. (Muscrai Construction Ltd., Ballyvourney, Co. Cork)

Eircom are charging me for a service which is not fit for purpose. I have reported the speeds as low as 0.06Mbps as a fault. I am yet to receive a response from eircom. I will now demand a refund for failure to provide an adequate broadband service.
We live in Ballymakeera and the speed is shocking. I live in an estate with 20 houses and the more people in the estate that are on line slows it down for every one else!!
Unable to Skype family in Baile mhiurne due to slow Internet. I live in London and find it v frustrating trying to Skype my mother living at home alone as we are constantly being cut off
I live in Poulanargid, Lissarda. We are depending on Digiweb. It is not a great seccess. We deserve better.
It has taken me over 16 mins to download this petition, how can I operate a business in County Cork?, so unfair, it takes so long to put up a comment on Twitter or Facebook, we have been promised faster connect with years , now I know it will never happen.

Sick of ringing Eircom about the poor broadband speeds. Have tried everything. New modem new cables new PC position. Need a new Eircom! Paying for 6mb getting less than quarter of a mb! Not good enough Eircom.
