Apologize Dr. Drew

It is ignorance of physicians like him that continue to cause the delay in diagnosis. The average diagnosis is 7 years. We have come too far to let this uninformed person cause such a huge set back. Can you imagine this boyfriend going back and telling his girlfriend there's nothing wrong, it is all in your head, it was because you were assaulted? it is in our head.....where the pain is interpreted. However, it starts in our body. This brings back so many painful memories of other physicians saying it is all in my head. I am the CEO of a large dermatology group. "Let me look into this" goes a lot farther than pulling outdated information out of your hat!

I was shocked and appalled when I heard that Dr. Drew had claimed that endometriosis and IC were somehow related to sexual abuse and were psychosomatic in nature, and that he urged her to see a psychiatrist NOT a urologist. If I had listened to people like him, I would be living in daily, agonizing pain as every organ in my pelvis was fused, 18 separate areas of endometriosis confirmed by pathology, significant retroperitoneal fibrosis on my ureters, an appendix and bladder that were folding in on themselves, and an obliterated cul de sac that was causing horrible rectal pain. But the icing on the cake was that he and his co-hosts followed up the segment by making jokes about causing pelvic pain by having sex with women, ripping them in half, and leaving the corpses behind. As the founder of an awareness organization and support group, and as a woman, I was disgusted that Love Line would accuse a woman suffering from very real, debilitating diseases as being responsible for her pain by not seeking counseling for sexual abuse, then turning around and joking about murdering women with their sexual prowess. How I managed to not be sick all over my computer is a feat beyond my understanding. I am simply disgusted!

I was absolutely mortified at the comments Dr. Drew said in reguards to Endometriosis and pelvic pain, us sufferers demand some respect .

You are an ignorant jerk Dr. Drew. It took me several years and several doctors to diagnose my endo. And by that time I also had adeno. It was not in my head.

How dare you Dr Drew. I lost part of my intestines to endometriosis, and was also robbed of any chance to have children. You need to apologize and stick to your failed treatments of addicts. I near expected your where such a male shovanist pig.

Dr. Drew I am appalled at your remarks in regard to Endometriosis. Take a peek at my laparoscopic photos and see if you still think I need a psychologist over a surgeon. You should be ashamed! It took me 9 years to get a proper diagnosis and by then it was too late for me to have children. Your misinformation and downright lack of any common sense are going to hold more women back from seeking the help they truly need!

I have lived and suffered from Endo for over 15 years. Please spread awareness positively, the statements that were made were in poor taste.

It is not okay for Dr. Drew to diagnose someone he's never met based on comments from her boyfriend! He took a oath to "do no harm" when he became a doctor. In this segment he does harm to every woman w/ endo by infering it isn't a real illness. He should be ashamed & needs to appologize to women like me who have endo & suffer everyday from it. I've had my entire life ripped from me. 1 in 10 women suffer from endometriosis. It is often accompanied by other illnesses. The disease is not caused by sexual assualt/ rape. It is not something that happens due to how someone feels or their sexual history. There are several kinds of endo. It can be heriditary, caused by malnutrition, caused by chemicals in the environment, etc. There is NO CURE for endo. Some women have painful periods, some women are in extreme debilitating pain every single day. I found a wonderful doctor, Dr Sinervo, w/ the CEC(Center for Endomertiosis Care in Atlanta). He's known to be the best doctor for endo in the world. He performed excision surgery on me a month ago (excision is a special type of surgery that only a handful of doctor's know how to do, which makes it rarely available). Dr. Sinervo performed surgery on me as a charity case, completely free of cost, due to how much this disease has made me suffer. I have been homeless and financially devastated. Now I am doing much better. This is the kind of information Dr. Drew should share, information about excision surgery and how only 5% of Dr. Sinervo's patients (w/ endo only) have pain after surgery. He should provide actual knowledge not ab.s. diagnoses based on what someone is saying about someone else!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drew, you are way out of line with this. I endured many years of endo, since I was 15 years of age. My drs. Would tell me it was all in my head, even though there is a family history of endo in my family. It took 15 years to get properly diagnosed because of quacks like you saying that it's all in our heads. I hope you get educated.

Dr. Drew, your comments on endometriosis are insulting and ignorant. Those of us who have suffered infertility, extreme physical pain, and sometimes multiple surgeries deserve a sincere apology that does not include you denying what you clearly said.

Apology is insufficient. Please have Dr. Camran Nezhat and Dr. Ken Sinervo on your show to help set the record straight about women's health. Take this as an opportunity to revolutionize/improve medical awareness
