Yeah! We, the community, NEED mediatek Roms to be open source! We must have the ability to design our own ROMs and upgrade our phones to our requirement...as unofficial ROMs will definitely keep going even after official ROMs stop! This allows us to make our phones the way we like them and EASE the Burden from mediatek's hands of juggling many ROMs together so they can concentrate on their new devices with more problems and bugs to fix and update etc.
