without open source drivers the update cycles take too long and installation of alternative OSs is not possible - so I won't buy I phone, which is outdated by its software shortly after it entered the market

I have now the second phone with a MTK CPU.
And they work great. But it can be more better.
So we need AOSP. Please show the source code for better ROM
in our phones and tablets. Thanks

It's painful when one is stuck on stock rom and cannot update to the latest version of android. Kindly make all resources needed available.

Your devices start to be looked at as crap in Europe, because you don't match the GPL. It is a pity, because I wanted to buy a phone from a great project ( fairphone ), that aimed to be open. Because they have a chip of you inside, there is no possibility to be open. The whole project is a failure because of your chip and I will never support this. You have a chance to gain your reputation, if you use it, I will consider supporting you.

It's very important that Mediatek give necessary binaries and source code to community so there can be proper Android deveolper community support for these devices.
