AOSP Support for MediaTek Devices

Open your code pleeeeeeease! It's will be better for all! ;)

I hate my slow mediatek lenovo tablet, so I would like cyanogenmod support for this :-)

i own a mediatek device and im sick of using android 4.2.1 with 4.4 (Kitkat) is out please release the code so i can update my device.

please , release source to help yourself. many people prefer to buy qualcomm because they have access to alternate ROM. releasing source will make you sold more smartphone or /and chips

I don't buy phones with MediaTek chips because of the lack of AOSP support.

Imagine your future with open source. No serious reason to keep your code closed !! And concentrate your skills in develloping reliable hardware........

My first android phone was a mediatek Lenovo A750 dual sim mt6575, immediately changed over to an unoficial rom from xda developers and worked phenomenally well and i still use it as my daily phone. SInce then i´ve purchased two ZTE V970, and my latest acquisition is a Lenovo S650. As i said before, the Lenovo A750 reliability is very good. battery lasts a whole day 34-40 hours on a single charge with both sims active with daily 2G data for background data, changing to 3G for active browsing as well as wifi usage, GPS works whenever i need it, satellite lock may take about 1 minute but once it starts it works, I have no doubt that the hardware works well. But lately being stuck to an old platform with no possibility in the future to upgrade to third party AOSP roms is becoming a limiting factor. Relying on hardworking developers that port/hack from other devices ROMs in order to reap the most benefit from the hardware is difficult, they do a great job with what little information and support they have and they are truly the ones that in my opinion make me want to continue with mediatek. There is a tremendous market for dual sim chipsets, you (Mediatek) are in definitely in my future buying options but please, release the source code, embrace the developing community and prove that longevity is also a top priority for Mediatek.

I would love to use the fairphone with a Cyanogenmod.

I wantet to buy some good asian phones but as I noticed that I couldn't install nor build a working cyanogenmod built for all these devices I didn't buy one...

Release the FULL driver source for all MTK devices,so that the development can be free and can be started. Thanks

Seriously guys, releasing the source codes will help you as it'll finally jumpstart a good modding community

This would help MediaTek as the community would fix bugs that plague devices.

Many very interesting devices contain your chips - they just have one huge drawback: unreliable update policies and no escape via CyanogenMod or similar custom roms.

Please release the source!

I have too many MTK devices to count and I don't plan on buying anymore due to lack of first-party and third-party support. Give the community tools, and your devices could be legendary.

I simply love MediaTek.They provide great octa-core chips at a relatively low price.
