Women and girls need sex based protections for safety, privacy, dignity and level playing fields as well as sex based representation. Saying women’s representatives can be intact males who were raised as men erases women and actively undermines the intent of affirmative action measures and legally permitted segregation.

Transgender people deserve to live in freedom and safety, with rights and protections enshrined in law. But these rights should not come at the expense of women's rights, which would be eroded to accommodate biological males who may choose to self-identify as female without any meaningful psychological assessment or medical intervention. The threat in both scenarios (ie. for biological women and for trans women) is male violence. I beg you not to put women and girls' hard won rights to privacy and safety at risk. We already live in fear of male violence; taking away the few protections we do have is surely not the answer. We need our safe spaces to remain safe. Please.

Women have fought long and hard for our sex based rights and spaces. Bringing male-bodied individuals legally into these rights and spaces erases that; now you have a uni-sex based system of laws. Do what is right and give women back what they fought for.

Trans ideology erases and makes a mockery of the entire female sex class and the very meaning of the word 'woman'.
