The Academy of Science is taking an unscientific approach to defining a woman. An unfair, regressive and misogynistic approach. Note there is no redefining of man. Men should not represent women’s points of view, women’s experiences, women’s inclusion on boards, women’s accolades.

This is ludicrous. Only a female can be a woman. This is not only insulted but a violation and discrimination against women. We should not be to blame for other people who have psychological trauma or problems that have caused them to feel that a woman is anything other than a biological female. They may be suffering a gender identity crisis but women have always been female and we should not feel sorry for bring women and we have a role and a duty which cannot be taken away

Sex is immutable and no amout of 'declaring' to be other than one's natal sex will change that fact.

Women’s sex based rights must be protected and children protected against medical intervention for a mental problem. Men cannot become women, to suggest so is to ignore reality and the rights of women.

WOMAN: Adult Human Female. Humans cannot change sex. Men are NOT Women.

I am shocked that the government ant other institution are even considering this. I have no problem with any man deciding to dress or live as the opposite sex …. provided…. It does not impact negatively on women’s safety; rights or privacy. It is unreasonable and unacceptable that this is allowed to occur.

Women have been oppressed since the beginning of human time, in every culture, and in every country, and now just as we were getting on our feet, you are redefining it to mean nothing. If anyone can be a woman, then the word means nothing. Our history will be erased. Our medical needs - which are different from mens - will be ignored, our hard fought for rights will disappear. You have not redefined men. This is sexist in the extreme. This is doing what a small proportion of men want but it does not help women in anyway. Think about the women in your life, and how this would affect them. Gone will be their sports, organizations, safety, and medical health.

Women is a age, sex & species word - adult human female. It describes the biological reality of over half the worlds population. Stop trying to erase us. The word women is taken.

Trans rights must not be promoted at the expense of females, ie, biological women's rights. We have a right to be protected to resist colonisation and female erasure.

There has to be a separation between "official facts" about biological gender and preferred names/pronouns. Respect and protection to trans ajdnnon-binary but there needs to be some serious decisions and boundaries around this movement ...

Women are female humans who have survived all the rape, sexual harassment, othering, exclusion from meetings and political representation, lower pay, to eventually reach adulthood. We are born, not worn. Sex matters in every cell of the body and is scientifically important in disease, in medication, in sporting prowess and in vulnerability to abuse by males. I note that men have not been defined out of existence in the same way. This move is sexist and it WILL have adverse impact.
