I strongly disagree that 'anyone can be a woman' because they absolutely can not. Men will NEVER be women. Have some respect.

Is it progressive to stand by and watch womens sport, safety and rights be annihilated by men with sexual fetishism? Would you also agree with an anorexic that they are in deed fat as they starve?

But it’s the role of staff in public bodies not to be unduly influenced. It’s up to you to insist on and facilitate the open and transparent process of consultation during policy making. Policy should not be made in back rooms.

Biological sex is a fact. Erasing it or including into the category of biological sex, self identification or gender identity, is grievously harmful to both sexes and to intersex. This is true for all whether they do or don't self ID. Men and women are different. Sex chromosomes do not change and every cell of the body is sexed. It is grossly unscientific to replace sex with gender.

It is amazing how an "inclusive" culture always comes at the expense of women's rights. Why can't the definition of "man" include a male who likes to dress as a woman, alters his body surgically or hormonally to appear more feminine or otherwise wishes to live as a more feminine male.

Not providing female only toilets is also disrespectful to women and an invasion of womens and childrens rights and of the human right to feel safe in your environment.

And it is very telling that this spotlight isn’t also on men.

Transgender ideology is the new creationism. How can the Australian Academy of Science affirm this irrational, anti-scientific, socially regressive ideology. It is not the role of the Academy to affirm quasi-religious belief systems, but to promote scientific knowledge.

I am a woman. The word cis is offensive.

As a woman, and one who has birthed and breastfed my children, I am personally offended at the proposed erasure of my identity as a woman via the use of Orwellian style manipulative language changes. But I am also horrified at what this means for women in general. Language is, as this proposal reflects, a powerful tool for creating social reality, and when I am not allowed to describe myself as what I AM, what biology makes me, that is denying my social and human rights based on that definition. Women have been horrifically oppressed and suffer such disadvantage personally and socially because of the biological reality of our sex. Erasing our ability to describe our reality takes away any ability for us to have that addressed. Please re think this appalling, discriminatory, purely politically motivated, and outright dangerous change to our language.

Harms women. We are a protected sex class in law.
