We, the parents and families of Orca, appreciate Orca\'s long standing commitment to anti-racism work as shown in the school\'s transformation plan, the development of an anti-bias curriculum resource kit, the use of professional development time for anti-racism work, and the commitment to sending all teachers and staff to Undoing Racism Trainings. By signing this petition, we are asking our school\'s administration to continue this commitment in the 2008-2009 School Year by: *Providing the necessary support for, and conveying the clear expectation to, all teachers new to Orca in the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 school year to attend the Undoing Racism Training by the People\'s Institute (or similar trainings) so that the new teachers can have access to the same definitions and perspectives as the current teaching staff. We believe that racism is so hard to talk about that having a shared language and analysis of racism will strengthen Orca\'s efforts to provide an equally excellent education for all children; *Supporting the teaching staff in its efforts to develop and embrace a plan for strengthening anti-bias practice throughout the school; *Deepening the use of the anti-bias curriculum resource kit.
