I believe that everyone has experienced bullying too some degree. Do you remember how it felt? Would you want your child to feel this pain? Bullying is an increasing cause for the safety of our children. As a person who was been personally effected by bullying and as a mother with a child of special needs, I am deeply concerned for my son’s as well as his younger brother’s future. Everyone is born with a unique and beautiful soul. Unfortunately, the evils in the world have created a hostile environment for these souls to flourish. Some people have taken it upon themselves to degrade and devalue one’s worth, either physically or emotionally. Something needs to be done. I would like to present to the Montrose Area High School Board to hold a school assembly to bring to light the long lasting effects of bullying. I believe the first step to combating bullying is educating. Lack of empathy and knowledge is a breeding ground for discrimination. I hope to have this incorporated in the school year annually, in all of the Montrose School District, as a constant reminder that life is precious and should be handled with care. Together we can make this happen. I will present this petition to the school board on November 11th, 2013. I would like to ask you to take a moment to sign this petition.
