The horse should have been investigated by stewards, and scratched until they had their answer.

The year is 2017: we have portable diagnostic equipment, ways to stream races live, and overall an extremely easy way to communicate medical findings to withhold a horse from racing. Sadly, when the horse is pulled from a race, they'll be sent to slaughter. Both factors need to be addressed for the sake of proper business etiquette. If your horse cannot race, they shouldn't, and care after by way of retirement or sale.

This is fraud, animal cruelty and incompetence all wrapped into one. You can't bring the horse back, but you can fire the individuals at the race track and the racing commission and prosecute both the real and fake owners and trainers

This is a disgrace and embodies all that the naysayers against racing cite when calling the sport horrific.

This is completely uncalled for especially if people in charge were actually doing their jobs and not just collecting a paycheck

If you think horse racing can keep doing this with no consequences might I suggest you go ask the dog racing people how that worked out for them

If the Racing Commission does not take action on this, then why do they exist? They knowingly allowed rules to be broken and ignored the plight of the major athlete in the contest. They represent what people hate about racing: a callous, insensitive, money grabbing group of individuals who are in it for themselves. Period.

Appointed officials ignored info that was called to their attention. Parx reputation in the horseracing industry is awful. Why is that ok?

These greedy people have no regard for these horses lives. This occurs on a daily basis and must be stopped.
As a fan of the spirt, I am appalled.

The death of this poor creature is pure dereliction of duty on behalf of all involved. If an animal that gave you so much can't have some peace in the pasture instead of being rode to death or sold for meat which is absolutely sick.
