Please protect cats from declaw. It leaves them defenseless especially if they are partly outdoor or totally outdoor cats it’s really mean

I was so disappointed to discover that one of my favorite pet stores participates in this inhumane practice... I only hope there is a reason beyond charging an extra $100 per kitten "adoption".

I'm an RVT and this is a completely unnecessary and cruel amputation of the toes. Cats walk on their toes. Very barbaric and the vets I choose to work with won't do this mutilation.

Please don't declaw your cats. I have a rescue cat who was declawed and abandoned outside. She has no choice but to bite when you do something she doesn't like, such as give her pills . If she gets in a tiff with another cat, she sometimes ends up with an eye absess.

We have a cat who can not be touch beside her head without chew and licking every time we pet her. She got pieces of bones lose inside her paws. She is lucky to live at age 6 . Her paws swell during or near anything cold. She got cold phobia . Also after playing for five minutes. She is a bangle mix cat and they are very hipper cats. She can not be her self due to declaw!!!! She licks and chew every time she plays and near cold items too. Vets where i live declaw and in denial what she is going through . Because no one has return a cat after declaw. Yes, because the side effect don't stare showing some until they get at age 5 or older. As time goes on they get worse with behavior . Most cats who are declaw will be pout in kill shelters or in the streets. Please ban it today for all cats!!!!!!!! I will be forced to put my cat down earlier then normal time. Due to declaw!!!!!

Watch the paw project movie on their website .org or facebook .Also station .com, netflex, amazon.com and utube . AVMA said they listed declawing, debarking, tail docking, and ear clipping inhumane and harmful to pets, but they still encourage vets to promote it to make money.

Oh where do I start on this cruelty? Declawing does not make a good pet nor keep cats in homes. If ya can't deal with claws and train a cat, get a stuffed animal or pet rock.

This evil and obscene practice is illegal in UK, Europe, Australasia and many other countries and no-one in those countries is campaigning for it to be made legal. Why then, does it not only remain legal in the USA and Canada, but is carried out as a matter of routine in places?

Dewclawing is crule and outlawed in multiple countries. Declawing in a pet store perpetuates the idea that it is ok and normal.

Declawing is so unnecessary with the invention of nail caps like soft paws. Soft paws last 4-6 weeks which gives a kitten or even a cat time to be trained to only scratch cat furniture. Or the owner can decided to continue to use Soft Paws. If you applied Soft Paws to your cats and kittens instead of declawing them I'll bet you would benefit as much as the cats. A packet of Soft Paws contains 40 caps- 4 applications if you're only putting them on the front claws (with an exception for polodactyls). A packet of Soft Paws only cost about $19, while declawing surgery is considerably more expensive. Soft Paws come in 4 different sizes (Kitten, small, medium and large) and a wide variety of colors and color combinations- the hardest part may be deciding on a color. I'll bet future cat owners will be more interesting in adopting a cat or kitten with unusually colored (and scratch-proof) nails than a cat or kitten whose third phalanx has been removed. Please change your policy and stop declawing!
