I am petitioning for the government to revise the current Animal Cruetly laws to ensure animals are protected under the same laws as human beings. Cases of cruetly are being tried daily with vile human beings being given shockingly low punishments including being allowed to own animals again after a certain time frame depending on the cruelty severity.

We have a sex offenders register to protect the public and I am hoping to have the government revise the current legal stance on animal cruelty to include:

1. Life time bans on all cases of animal cruelty, if they have done it once then they will do it again

2. Hand out meaningful financial fines, not a few hundred pounds which is close to pointless

3. Create an animal offenders register to ensure convicted criminals cannot get close to another animal

4. Stop viewing animals as possessions - I own a dog and he is part of the family not a possession.

These simple changes would save the public thousands in CPS fees, allow the RSPCA to focus on new cases rather than chasing down people who are repeat offenders.

The government needs to take a meaningful stance against animal cruelty, rather than turning a blind eye which is nothing short of wilful ignorance.

We don't tolerate child abuse on any level so why is it right that an animal should suffer based on the actions of degenerative human beings.

Time for a change, be part of the change we all want to aee
