In several states, it is illegal to leave a dog out in the cold; specifically, in temperatures under 32 degrees and for more than 30 minutes. Unfortunately, Oklahoma has no law against this, and as long as the dog has a “shelter” and water, there’s nothing that can be done about it, regardless of the temperature. As it’s gotten colder outside, I have seen more and more dogs left out in the cold alone and shivering while their owners are inside where it’s warm. It’s time Oklahoma adopts this law too; it’s time we get justice for the pups.
