Our pets and children are not safe. On March 18th a neighbor's dog entered our yard and violently killed our beloved cat who was sunning himself on the patio. The unleashed dog then continued looking for prey through the neighborhood before being captured by police on Springfield Avenue. Animal control was contacted and the neighbors received a summons to no avail; the very next day the dog was again in our yard, along with a second dog, and followed me into the garage, trying to enter the house.

When they moved into the neighborhood, the dog's owner warned many that her dog was "trained to kill," and advised that small animals and children who entered their yard would not be safe. While the fence they erected may be sufficient at keeping these small animals and children out of THEIR yard, it is not sufficient at keeping this animal out of all of OURS. Anytime neighbors have witnessed the dog out for a walk with its owner, it is very obvious she struggles to control it and she warns those with dogs to not come near it. The young children playing in backyards and at Wilson Primary Center, the neighborhood cats who roam freely, and the dogs kept in yards with electric fences are not safe.

As the owners' attempts to contain their animals have failed, please help protect the safety of the neighborhood by signing this petition for the immediate removal of this dog from his home.
