Final supporters
Since the founding of Aliso Niguel High School, students have been able to sit in their cars before school. After 22 years of students possessing the freedom to sit in their cars before going to class, administration has begun to strip students the right of sitting in their cars, forcing students to make the decision of either exiting their cars or receiving a detention. Students at Aliso Niguel use the time before school in their cars to do homework, eat breakfast, or to stay warm in the mornings. Furthermore, Aliso Niguel students pay a minimum fee of $100 per school year to park in the lot, so by giving school money we deserve the right to enjoy the comfort of our vehicles before class. By signing this petition, you help the cause of granting students the right that EVERY student had since 1993, the right to sit in their car. Thank you for all your support!

The feedback I have received from fellow students highlights how many of you depend on this morning period for finishing assignments or preparing for the day ahead. I am currently documenting these individual experiences to present a formal case to the administration. Your contributions provide the evidence needed to demonstrate that this policy change negatively affects our daily routine.

I have a child at this school and feel this rule should be overturned. I didn't pay $100 for my son to be kicked out of his car when he gets there early to avoid traffic,finish homework, eat breakfast and take breath before starting his day!!
I don't go to ANHS anymore but I think it's very unfair for students to be forced to leave their car before school. This will only cause an increase in tardies because the students will want to stay at home longer to do the things they could just do in the car (have breakfast, do homework, put on makeup, etc.)
A very large group of students should not be punished for the actions of a small minority. We pay $50 per semester and had to qualify to use this parking lot. The fact that none of us can use it in the mornings because a tiny group abuses the privilege is downright ridiculous.
Students should be allowed to artive early to avoid traffic and use the time to socialize, do homework and study. We can't assume they are arriving early to do something against school policy. If they are doing something against school policy, they should have high penalties. But it is wrong to assume they are guilty and forbid them to have this time in the morning.
Simply sitting in your own car in the mornings before school should not be considered as breaking a rule. Students have extra time to study or sit in their warm cars on cool mornings when they get to school early. I don't see the importance of being on campus before the bell
Students deserve to do what they will within thief cars. If not good? Punish them, that is their choice

One more thing; please remind the proctors that they have absolutely no right to touch our vehicles when forcing us out of our cars. I have heard of them knocking on hoods and doors and even opening the doors without permission. This in itself is a clear over reach of authority.
