Current, up to date aerial maps are very important to our operation. Please make general use of CLU data to the NRCS Gateway open to the public.

This is ridiculous, in this day and age not to have pertinent data at our finger tips to run our daily farming operations. These maps are important for accurate information for our aerial sprayers and for mapping field boundaries in our data records keeping. There is so much CRP coming out at my employer's farm and it is important to have these things updated!

I recently retired from USDA, Farm Service Agency as their Chief Appraiser. I could not agree more with this petition. In my opinion there is absolutely no reason there ever should have been a denial of this information for use by appraisers, and what Agri Data achieves. In fact it should be available to any organization or private person in need of this type of information. While in my federal position I constantly debated with program leaders in support of the need for this data use by appraisers, and encouraged USDA to have Section 1619 repealed, but met with negative results. It is my belief that this is a system paid for by public funds and there is a fiscal responsibility to have the data available for public use. The burden of public need outweighs the agency's quest for data privacy from my view.

I SEE NO VALID REASON FOR CLU DATA TO BE CONSIDERED PRIVATE INFO. LOCAL GOVERNMENT R.E. TAX ASSESSORS MAKE SIMILAR INFORMATION AVAILABLE ROUTINELY (POSSIBLY THROUGH THEIR GIS SITES) UPON A VISIT TO THEIR OFFICE OR, IF NECESSARY, A FOI REQUEST. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

As an appraiser, I need this information in order to evaluate rural property sales. This info does not contain farmers' names, addresses, Social Security numbers, wetland information or compliance data.
