This is a valuable resource - any one of those 6 cm matches with a good family tree could be the key to new information. Don't Delete! We pay good money for this service!

I have found many verifications from 6 and 7 cMs.....also I have DNA matches from the town in Ireland that my Ancestors are from....I have nothing more on my Irish ancestors but have been collecting the names...several showing up multiple times...hoping for a break through at some time...Please don't take these away....6 and 7 cMs would be normal for this far back...

These matches are important to me and have provided important clues/connections when researching my unknown paternal family.

The information Ancestry wants to delete is too important. If its an issue of "space" in the database, then give people the option to keep those 8cm & lower by clicking a box.

Saving current matches is only part of the issue, the bigger issue is that we will not get any new matches at this level. I was able to break through a brick wall using 6-7 cM matches. I discovered my son's 2GGM;s paternal grandparents. I am still trying to figure out which of their sons is her father, plus her paternal line. If ancestry no longer will provide 6-7cM matches, I fear that I may probably never find out who her parents/maternal line were.

Please don't delete these matches. There is so much valuable data to help us all find our ancestors and resulting family connections!

The decision to reduce Ancestry's service by deleting DNA matches below 8 cM is a disservice to your customers, who paid top dollar for access to this data. It is also inconsistent with your stated value of enabling those with African American heritage to find their family history. Absent a paper trail, these distant matches often provide the only available clues to familial relationships.

I manage 4 Kits on Ancestry. No way will I be able to get all of these saved. Just last night I found yet another 6 cM match that has 2 of my lines in her tree. She matches my dad, me, my sister, and my son. I don't believe for one minute that it is not a true match.

I have broken through my brick walls with DNA. I didn't use the near matches, I used the very distant ones! Please don't delete the small matches, I still have a few I'm working on!

I am appalled that our little matches are going to be removed. I have found some good matches that has further my research. I do not think it is fair that some of our "8cM" matches will also vanish due to Ancestry's rounding up of segment size. It's bad enough to have to search through thousands of 6 and 7cM without having to search through ALL of the 8cM because there is no way of knowing if they are over 8cM or if they are really 7.8cM. Shame on you Ancestry, please let us keep the matches that we already have and only apply the new system to new results.

Two Weeks for this massive deletion was not enough notice. I am at the point in my research where these small matches really matter

Do NOt delete I have no time to save as i have a job and do not need more jobs. This is unfair to us as you should have a optin to let us decide whom we want to delete. You actually need to dive deeper and let us find dna cousin so we can go to our 1600 great grandparents. this is wrong what you are doing and mean.

I've been a member for almost 20 years and object to this. I manage 8 DNA results for 8 close family members and it's impossible to mark that many matches to save in the short time available. They need to give us more time.
