As a public health professional with over 30+ years in government and advocacy, having a niece with PANS I respectfully request a thorough read of this petition. Children and young adults are being inflicted by this autoimmune disorder at an alarming rate since COVID. Our mental health supports and medical supports need to be looked at TOGETHER. Each blames the other. It is a combined syndrome effecting both medical and mental. Instead of pushing these individuals and families into the psych ward. Look at the medical cause and integrate. Our mental health facilities can’t and don’t know how to handle the medical cause and effect. Long term insurance payments could be minimized by treating the medical supports, instead of committing these children and young adults. Please read the petition with intent. This is a Public Health Crisis. Our families are in crisis and need to be heard and under stood. Thank you for your attention to the detail.

Thins is not only a huge mental health issue but a medical one as well and the fact that a child can have so many issues and none of it is covered by insurance is horrible!!! In what world is it ok to pick and choose which conditions a child should be covered for! Please make this change

I advocate and support PANDAS legislation

My son had PANS and I have had to navigate his healing on my own. There simply are not resources. Allopathic solutions are psych meds. Our kids deserved better. They deserve healing.

Our son has lost almost his entire childhood to his complex illness. Without me fighting tenaciously against a broken medical system that wrongly separates body from brain, we wouldn’t even have a diagnosis, and certainly wouldn’t be seeing improvements. Thank you for any attention you can give to this urgent matter for my child and so many others.

My daughter has PANS. Took us 3 years to get her accurately diagnosed. Of course, none of the treatments that helped her were covered by insurance. It was a lonely battle

This also applies for many adults. We badly need advocates and to have better options.
