Help us to encourage Camden and Islington Council to review their plans for the parking and disabled bays to Flowers Mews and Archway Close in and around the new squares development. We wholly support efforts to effectively improve the Archway Gyratory system and the new squares development to this side of the island, however not at the disadvantage of disabled drivers, the elderly and local car users. Help us encourage Camden and Islington Council to listen to the true feelings of their residents, and recognise the needs of locals, elderly and disabled drivers who live, work and visit our wonderful newly designed town.

Due to the recent works carried out on the Archway Gyratory, a substantial amount of parking and disabled parking has been removed from both Flowers Mews and Archway Close. Having seen a huge drop in parking space reducing from over 20 bays to only four, two of which are loading bays. One loading bay would be suffice for this side of the island allowing the second loading bay to be turned in too two disabled bays. This is greatly affecting the elderly and disabled access to Archway Close, Flowers Mews and St John’s Way and the local shops along with access to Archway Methodist Hall. We strongly believe that more car access is essential for access to local shops, transport and other services in the area to support the local businesses.

We feel that bringing back the parking facilities to the island in order to replace the spaces that have been lost since the Archway Gyratory system caused a closure to Archway Close and part of Flowers Mews. Believing car access is essential to effectively access local business. We therefore request a review from our local councils to increase car parking and introduce disabled bays, allowing access to Archway Close, Flowers Mews and St John’s Way. Requesting the replacement of public car parking and disabled facilities in this area that have been lost with the demolition of Archway Close and the reduction to Flowers Mews along with its parking.

Re-building car parking spaces and introducing disabled bays on this side of the Archway Gyratory system will improved car access, will reduce congestion in other parts of the town and more importantly making it easier for the elderly and disabled people to access the island. With car parking costs being at a realistic price.

Many businesses and residents in the area rely on the parking facilities in order to access local shops. We believe that new parking facilities should be re-built to replace the spaces that have be lost. Visitors, locals, the elderly and disabled people are finding it increasingly difficult to access this side of the town. For example, the thousands of new residents moving into the area or hotel guests who we now see coming to stay in Archway, the new housing, the introduction of parking is needed and not to be further reduced.

The major issue to the reduction of parking spaces on Archway Close and Flowers Muse is it is now restricting disabled access on to the islands local shops. It is proposed from this petition for the local council to introduce more parking back to Archway Close and Flowers Mews, specifically the introduction of at least one disabled bay.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to support this request. This progress belongs entirely to the residents who refuse to let our neighbors’ needs be overlooked. It is humbling to see that so many of you care about these local issues as much as I do.

Used to park on Flowers Mews all the time for the optician but it is impossible now. Please turn those extra loading bays into bays for disabled drivers.

Consider reasonable adjustments supported by the equality act and discrimination of disabled people in our community

RIDICULOUS planning. How are we supposed to get to the shops if you take away all the spaces? Do better.

I am upset that there is no parking for disabled after the new gyrotary at Archway was completed. It's completely unacceptable that I cannot go to my optician we is situated nearby.
