I am a Ukrainian scientist who now works in the Czech Republic.
My parents and relatives in Kharkiv are now hiding in basements.
I agree with Jacek Kurzina and others who do not share this mantra about "peace" and a "diplomatic solution". All Putin's propaganda is calling for peace while his army is killing Ukrainians. Do you want to repeat their lying slogans?
It's utter nonsense! Putin is a brutal dictator with nuclear weapons.
He attacked Ukraine in 2014. Before that he attacked Gurgia in 2008.
Many thanks to the Czech Republic, Poland, Finland, Estonia and many other countries for REAL support and their firm position.
Not to the useless UN and other "peacekeepers" who have been sharing their endless "concerns" for decades and letting Putin do whatever he wants.
Diplomacy works when you are strong.

I can't believe we were skilled to give a birth only to such a shallow petition. After an experience of two WWs we delivered merely the words of solidarity and just soft scream for peaceful resolution of the "conflict". How it could be that in the 21st century we agree the stronger country invades the neighbor. How can we tolerate and support for years the dictators and call them partners. How we cannot notice that Putin wants to strike solidarity of the scientific community as well - he attempts also to threaten us e.g. depicting (Dymitry Rogozin tweet) the possible catastrophe of ISS due to lack of support as the consequence of the western sanctions. Stop this invasion not asap - stop it immediately, stop it now! Free Ukraine is perfectly in its right to be on its own way to democracy and to implement its vision of the happy future.

I am deeply convinced that the aggressor will desist from his prey when the whole world expresses its disgust. The difficulty is to show a simple-minded aggressor a way out now, so that he does not feel like a loser in a world he no longer understands.
