Women's history is American history and women's historians have been and are vital to these tasks.

America's women are very, very diverse, and so are their experiences and stories. Hopefully, this museum will be inclusive, but it will undoubtedly need scholars of women's experiences to ensure that the end product is both inclusive and accurate. Please revise the bill to ensure that the Board is broadly constituted and certainly has scholars of women's experience among its members.

Really, no women's historian? What more can I say?

I am among the historians "dismissed" (as were we all) from the NWHM Scholars Council, for seeking peer review of the web exhibits, diversity on the council and exhibits, presence of historians in the leadership, accuracy in materials and exhibits., and a traditional Congressional commission that includes historians, has a longer time frame, and is open to public input.

Women historians need more jobs in this country but the way this bill is written does not give me hope that this will succeed or rise above partisan bickering, neocon-liberal.

I of course applaud the idea of a Women's History Museum. However, I find it hard t believe that the very capable professional historians were told their services were not needed. I support all of the propsed amendments, especially the composition of the Commission and the role of NWHM.
