Dear Redhill Community, although I am touched by the kind words and caring interest you have shown me, I am concerned that the best interests of our beloved Redhill are not being served. I wish to clarify - for a number of reasons my family and I felt that my being at the school was no longer ideal for us. of course, I would have loved to stay, but this would have been difficult for us. in recognition of my love for the school I appeal to everyone to make no further assumptions surrounding my decision. For me, it is time to look at new and exciting prospects. Redhill will always have a special place in my heart.

Hi Jess, Come visit sometime, and you'll be surprised to note few disappointing, drastic or unnecessary changes, despite the 'rumours'. Its just us, teachers and pupils, doing what we do in a wonderful school, as it was when you were there. I'd be happy to show you round, starting with my classroom (no more hut!) Love, Ms W

To imagine my time at Redhill being spent without Mrs Pinheiro is unthinkable. Being taught by her in Grade 8, 11 & 12 was a privilege and I thank her for helping me to realise my passion for Public Speaking and to hone it as a skill. Mrs P is a rare kind of teacher in that the extent of her influence goes far beyond the realm of the classroom. English periods with her were always guaranteed to develop into valuable lessons about life and how to be better people. Redhill will be hard-pressed to find someone as dedicated, passionate and wise as her. She is irreplaceable.

Mrs P may never know of the profound influence she has had one my sister and I. She is clearly adored and it would be a huge shame to lose her to another school or institution.

In a country that is rife with unemployment, lack of opportunity, poor education and in desperate need of decent educators, we ought to cherish teachers like Mrs. P who go beyond the call of duty and touch the lives of their students in more ways than one (as a mentor, a friend, a shoulder to cry on and a mother away from home).

Mrs Pinheiro has been and remains a teacher extraordinaire who cares for and supports her students well beyond the call of duty.

So, I am not at liberty to discuss these matters until the Redhill Trust has received the report from the mediator. The mediation was carried out in the last few weeks of term, which meant it was not possible to communicate to the parents, staff and children. As chairman of the Trust, I apologise for the seemingly lack of communication, but I would like to see the final report and let my fellow trustees see the report before we comment. Unfortunately Mrs Michelle Pinheiro made certain demands which she addressed to Mr Andrew Baker. Mr Andrew Baker made certain offers to Mrs Pinheiro, but she chose to resign. We are terribly sorry to have this outcome, as Mrs Pinheiro is a highly regarded professional in education. She is loved by the students, many of which contact her even after having left the school. The trustees involved with these issues have all tried their level best to get an outcome that would best serve the school at large, but it was not to be. We will report back in the New Year. Yours sincerely Gary Poultney.

Mrs Michelle Pinheiro. There have been ongoing issues within the English Department at Redhill School since 2010. The Head of High School, Mr Andrew Baker, has held many discussions with all parties to resolve the isuues, to no avail. In late 2013 we apppointed an independent mediator to assist. We have noy yet received the report as there is further work to be done.

I cannot imagine Redhill's English Department without Michelle Pinheiro. You have been an inspiration to both my children and I am truly sorry that the younger grades will miss out on knowing you as a teacher and a mentor. You will be sorely missed.

I'm disgusted that the school I have called home for 9 years would do such to one of the most amazing, friendly and amazing teachers. It has not only affected her, but her family to, I would love to have Mrs P back at Redhill High School so I could have the priviledge to be taught by her as I've only heard good things about her .

It will be a huge loss for Redhill to lose a teacher with the experience and skill of Mrs Pinheiro . She has not only inspired my kids but has brought such honour to Redhill in the english and public speaking fields.

I cannot express my dismay after reading that Redhill has lost our beloved Mrs P. I cannot imagine my life without Redhill and I cannot imagine Redhill without Mrs P. My memories of Mrs P are beyond fond and loving. She became a mentor and inspiration to me back in grade 8 and by grade 12 I looked forward to English every day and cherished every lesson with her. Mrs P taught us so much about life and she helped prepare us as individuals for the world we were stepping into after leaving school. My individual character and personality has been greatly affected by Mrs P and her loving, kind, wonderful, and fun-loving nature. I wish she and her family much strength through all of this and if Mrs P gets to read this, I would just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving your all into every lesson and every individual in the class and for all the love and kindness you showed us. The relationship you had with your matric pupils is beyond measure and you have had such a tremendous influence on all of our lives. I know that there will be many many more pupils in your future that will be graced by your excellent teaching and incredible lessons (both in English and in life). Redhill has lost such a stupendous teacher and an amazing person. We will miss you and good luck for all your future endeavours. I greatly hope that our paths will cross again soon. Much love xxx
