It is imperative that first responders be afforded the opportunity to avail themselves of reasonable protective measures when knowingly faced with the potential to sustain injury in the line of duty.

Please protect our first-responders; they need just as much as anyone does in a dangerous situation.

My sister lives in Portland and the last thing I want is too hear that it's too dangerous. If EMS need protection then they need protection, telling them no will just make things more dangerous for them to operate.

This seems like a silly thing to oppose. There are ways to make it clear they're not law enforcement. Protect your people.

God damn it guys. Its not like the vests reduce their ability to do their jobs.

"EMTs will look more like law enforcement" is not reason enough to withhold approval on body armour. EMTs are required to respond to the same volatile situations and deserve protection from potential threats.

This is a great idea and one that needs to be implemented world wide. As an EMT there is nothing more scary then a deteriorating Pt and escalating environment. Our safety should be the first priority.
