Hello everyone,

My name is Amir Saeed, and I am a 2L here at Detroit Mercy Law. I am respectfully announcing my candidacy for the position of SBA Executive President.

Every leadership role and experience I have pursued in law school has been intentional and has prepared me to serve this community in a greater capacity. The time has come to fully devote my energy to what I am most passionate about– our law school community.

I am seeking this role not only to lead, but to serve. I believe the power of this position rests with the students it represents. To me, this role is not about personal authority, but about faithfully representing the interests of our community. This candidacy is a commitment to listen, to act, and to ensure that every voice is respected and uplifted.

Throughout my time in law school, I have demonstrated my commitment to our community through service as: Treasurer of the Black Law Students Association, Founder of "The Gathering Hour," and Co-President of the National Lawyers Guild. Through these roles, I have been able to establish meaningful connections with our faculty and students, as well as lawyers and judges throughout the greater Detroit area.

I am proud of the community we have built together. If entrusted the opportunity to serve as your Executive President, I will work tirelessly to protect what makes our school special while striving to make it even stronger. It would be a true honor to serve as your SBA's Executive President.
