Please petition along with me to get American Express (AMEX) cards back at COSTCO.

As COSTCO members we are used to a level of service that Citigroup in USA and CapitalOne in Canada are just not able to provide.

Within the first month of it's transition in Canada, over a quarter of all Costco members I spoke to cited some or the other problem with CapitalOne.

CapitalOne has such an old software platform and bad customer support policies.

1. It's login website is so old and outdated

2. CapitalOne cannot do auto withdrawals from your bank account. They are not setup to do that

3. CapitalOne plays tricks on you. It will never show you the "Previous statement balance". Instead it will either show you the "Outstanding balance" or "Minimum payment due". With the hope that you either pay it all in which case they get paid for even the expense you made yesterday. In such a case CapitalOne might pay the merchant in 30-45 days and generate a positive float over your money. Or in the other case of "Minimum payment", it will go ahead and charge you interest on new purchases. Again, CapitalOne might not pay the merchant for 30-45 days but charge you interest on that amount that they never paid in the first place.

4. Bad customer service and outdated rules. In one instance, they had a Executive member with a history of paying 100% of bill every month. But they refused to increase credit limit because the customer was $2 over the credit limit. When will the customer request limit increase if it's not after they figure out that a charge is not going through.

This petition is for COSTCO to provide details to members on why it's partnership with AMEX did not work out, and why it decided to partner with CapitalOne without checking their processes and the tricks they play on Costco members.
