There is a sufficient amount of people who have voiced their opinion about wanting to own the soundtrack on various social network sites such as twitter, tumblr (especially in the matt smith tag and American Psycho the musical tag) and on facebook.
This petition is used as a way to gather all the people who want one, and to give you an idea of the amount of people who actually want this. This should give you an idea of whether the number is high enough to make the release possible and profitable.

I saw the musical a few weeks ago and was disappointed there wasn't a soundtrack that I could buy to relive the excitement of seeing it for the first time.
If money is the issue you could always do another kick starter, I would back it and I know lots of others would too! Can't get the songs out of my head, a soundtrack would be phenomenal!
I live in the U.S. and would like to at least be able to have the soundtrack to hear the wonderful performances by Matt Smith and the rest of the cast.
I would be happy for a c.d. or a dvd, why not both?! I would be happy to pay quite a hefty price in order to get my hands on a c.d.
I desperately wish I'd been able to see this - but I'm from New Zealand, we don't get much in the way of musicals here at all, and I couldn't afford to travel to see American Psycho :(
please make a cast album.

I don't want a soundtrack, I NEEED one. AP the musical was literally the best hours of my life and if you're not planning on releasing it on video (hint hint you seriously need to) having a soundtrack to listen to at least, that would be beyond perfect.
