Approximately there are 3.5 million homeless people in the United States. Out of that 3.5 million, approximately 1.5 million of that are children that are living on the streets..Soup kitchens are a way to provide for the homeless in the United States. Soup kitchens cook meals for homeless people and those who are needy. Unfortunately, most soup kitchens are only open once a week due to the lack of funding. Soup kitchens provide one meal a day. Foreign aid on the other hand, provides multiple meals in a day on all days of the week. Homeless in the U.S. are not dependent on aid because soup kitchens are not always open. So for the other days that soup kitchens are not open, the must fend for themselves. The homeless in the U.S. do not receive enough support. My proposition is to simply allow part of the government funding to be put towards hunger in America.
