America is considered the richest nation in the world yet women are still deprived of a paid maternity leave.  Here in America a mother to be, is given only 12 unpaid weeks whereas  in Brazil a woman is entitled to  24 full paid weeks of maternity leave. On October 20, 2010 the European Union extended a maternity leave with 20 full paid weeks. Isn't it time America does the same if not more ?
