Amend the Making Homes Affordable Program
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The Making Homes Affordable Federal program (sometimes known as HARP or HARP 2.0) should be amended to include and accommodate the medical and mental health costs for those with documented disabilities or mental health challenges. Such persons (as defined by SSI or other government agency) should be allowed to include their extraordinary * medical and mental health costs as qualifying expenses when applying for eligibility with the Making Homes Affordable program. (As the federal program is written now, such expenses are NOT allowed to be included, thus placing an undue financial burden on those with medical or mental health issues because of this exclusion. ) *Extraordinary is defined as 4% or more of Adjusted Gross Income
